Dear beloved Mt. Horeb Family,
Kris and I have been keeping you in our prayers and giving thanks for your love and support during this time. We wanted to send an update on how we four are doing here at home. We’ve had a few weeks to adjust to life at home, and while we are not getting a great deal of sleep, everyone is doing well. The girls are doing great – eating well, sleeping well (for 1-month-olds), and really growing! They are starting to notice little things around them, getting more aware and alert each day.
As some of you may know, since delivering the girls, I have been under the care of a cardiologist due to a heart condition I developed during the late stages of the pregnancy. It was determined after the girls arrived that the extra fluid and blood volume that came with carrying twins caused a weakening of my heart. We are thankful for wonderful doctors who caught the condition early and for a good prognosis. At a follow-up appointment with the cardiologist, they told us that my case is mild and that they expect a full recovery. Since coming home from the hospital, we have had wonderful help at home from our mothers and sisters.
Kris and I are so very thankful for all the love, support and prayers that have been offered to us during this time of transition and recovery. I miss you all, but I’m so grateful for the many cards, phone calls, and gifts that we’ve received. We feel so loved. With rest and new medications I am feeling stronger and having a great time being a new mommy!
