+Garden Volunteers are needed one day per week for watering and/or harvesting. Contact Amy Splittgerber at 465-6115 to participate in this ministry to fight hunger in our community.
+Saturday, April 1st, is Operation Inasmuch / Chapin Community Service Day. Here are the ways you can help:
–Share our Stuff (SOS) – Clean out your clutter for Lent as we Share our Stuff with those in need from the greater Chapin community. Collect gently used clothes, shoes, toys, games, books, and household goods. Drop them off at the church in our collection bins near the choir room or bring them to our Share our Stuff event on April 1, 2017. Contact Alvin Shaver ( 803.719.7993) or Travis Goodman (803.944.1901) if you can assist with the event, need help with getting your donations to the church, or have any questions.
–We Care needs volunteers to help paint the inside of their clinic building. Troy Crump is helping coordinate all of the service events for Chapin Community Service Day. There are three exam rooms, two bathrooms, a back work area, waiting room and a hallway. All materials will be provided, and with enough community volunteers, it can be completed in the morning.
–Lutheran Hospice is in need of some supplies. The following items can be dropped off in Room 111 to be delivered on April 1st: prayer shawls / blankets, washcloths (store bought or handmade), new, unused adult socks, hygiene items (shampoo/conditioner, body wash, lotion, Kleenex, finger nail clippers, nail polish, razors for men, etc.).
These are great opportunities for people to commit just one day to serving others and helping in their community. Work one day and make a lasting impression!
