Starting this Sunday evening, our Middle & High School Youth will go out all around the Midlands to serve others in the name of Christ. GraceWorks is a program designed by youth for youth, bringing young Lutherans together to reach out in service to homeless and vulnerable children and adults in the Columbia area. Service agencies the youth will work with include Transitions homeless shelter, Rice Home retirement center, the SC Autism Academy, the VA day center, Meals on Wheels, and more. For the third year in a row, Mt. Horeb will send the greatest number of youth and adults to this week of service.
Some of our Mt. Horeb Youth serve on the planning team for GraceWorks. This team meets throughout the year to plan the service projects, the worship services, the learning times, the t-shirts and the publicity for GraceWorks. One of our own, Gracen Splittgerber, was featured this week live on WACH Fox Columbia for a TV interview about GraceWorks. Watch the video here!
If you would like to come and see GraceWorks in action next week, please contact Pastor Ginger. All are invited to the Friday morning Prayer Walk, where all 100+ participants will walk from St. Paul Lutheran (corner of Bull & Blanding) to the State House (South Steps, facing Pendleton) and then hold a brief worship service there. The Walk leaves St. Paul at 10:30 am Friday.
Please keep all the participating youth and adults in your prayers this week, that their work would be safe, fruitful, and to the glory of God!
