Dear Mt. Horeb Members:
Mt. Horeb’s Council met this past Sunday for its June meeting. The Transition Team, which was appointed in May to guide our return to gathering at church, provided updates. Our initial hope was to return to worship in June, however we are delaying this idea due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases.
Please know the health and safety of our members are our first priority as we work diligently and with the guidance of Government leaders, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), the ELCA, and the South Carolina Synod.
Your response of financial support to Mt. Horeb continues to be a blessing during this complicated time. Because of your faithful generosity, our year-to-date offerings through May continue to meet our expenses. Together with God’s help, we will persevere. Offerings may be sent in by mail, placed in the drop box near the portico, or provided online through PayPal and Tithe.ly (look for the red ‘Donate Online’ button). We are thankful for everyone’s prayerful support, and your offerings are greatly appreciated.
Currently, we are providing online worship and daily video devotions through our Facebook and YouTube pages. Go to our Mt. Horeb website (https://mthoreb.net/), scroll to the top or bottom, and you’ll find links – little blue boxes – for both Facebook and YouTube. Just click to connect. We encourage you to visit these sites, subscribe and/or like, and invite others to do the same. We also will provide news updates on our website. If you do not receive these updates, please sign up by providing your email to receive weekly e-news.
Though church office hours are currently suspended, we are getting closer to returning and will let you know soon. Each staff member is working from home, and periodically in the office. Please call, text, or email, and we will respond as soon as possible. We have been conducting meetings, Bible studies, and classes using Zoom. Ministry Teams will be meeting over the next few weeks to plan. Look for our Messenger to return in July.
God’s Peace be with you+
