They will perform their spring concert at Mt. Horeb April 21st at 7pm in the sanctuary. The concert will last approximately one hour. Madrigals, founded in 1969 by Dr. Karl Kinard, is conducted by Dr. Chris Sheppard. Madrigals, a select group of 12 singers, has always sung a wide variety of styles. The group was initially a chamber choir made up of students interested in singing music for smaller ensembles, with repertoire ranging from actual madrigals to jazz to pop. In the 1980s, the group became a show choir, and has functioned again as a chamber choir for the last twenty-five years. While Madrigals frequently pairs with NC Singers in performances, the group actually went on the college’s first European tour and performs regularly on its own.
